The NeoPixel is a practical RGB LED that can be driven using only one microcontroller pin, allowing multiple usage by connecting them in sequence. This circular board features 12 NeoPixels connected in series. You can also connect the boards in sequence to use multiple LED clusters. The board features 12 NeoPixel LEDs measuring 5mm x 5mm. It has 24-bit color depth and operates on 4-7V DC voltage (ideal operating voltage is 5V). It requires a maximum of 20 mA current per pixel. Because they are driven with constant current, the brightness of your NeoPixels will not decrease even if the battery used in your project weakens. You can drive up to 500 NeoPixels at 30 FPS using Arduino, but using more NeoPixels requires more processing power and memory from Arduino.
