If you tried to connect a 3.3V system to a 5V system, you are aware that this is a problem. With a bi-directional logic level converter, you can easily convert both 5 volts to 3.3 volts and 3.3 volts to 5 volts with a small circuit. It is a very easy to use converter. You will need two voltage sources (high voltage and low voltage) to use on your own board system. You can operate it by connecting the high voltage (for example 5V) to the 'HV' pin, the low voltage (for example 3.3V) to the 'LV' pin and the 'GND' pin to the ground from the system.
